Chicago Vacation

We went to visit family in Chicago this summer. We ended up bringing the Texas heat with us, but we managed to stay cool by getting wet often.

 The boys were trying to come up with some sort of slip and slide.

This is as far as Brandon got.

Kaleb followed and didn't get very far either.

Brayden's cousin, Chelsea, turned six and they had a little party for her.

Drew was in the hospital for his second to last treatment so we were able to go visit him there in the brand new hospital that was just built. It was really nice with lots of fun things for the kids.

 My sister, Dayna, was explaining to kids a little bit about what Drew has been going through using this stuffed duck that the hospital provided.

 This was back at the beginning of July. Drew has since completely finished his chemo treatments, but we're glad we were able to experience a little bit of what he has been doing for this last year and that he was feeling well enough for us to be there.

 

 We visited my uncle's farm and took a few rides on the john deer as well as the horses.

 The kids loved taking care of the pony.

 Still keeping cool. We visited the pool often.

We had such a great time. The kids of course now want to live with Grandma and Papa and talk about going back all the time. Can't wait for next time.
