Swim Lessons

We finally signed Brayden up for swim lessons. The faster she learns to swim the less anxiety I will have with her being around water. She's gone for one week now, and still has a week to go.
Here she is on her first day.
Here she is with her class. It's a pretty big class but they have two intructors.
Here they are learning how to get in the pool.
They raise their hands up...
...put them to the side, and then slide into the water.
On the second day she sported the goggles.
She did a good job blowing bubbles on the first day. We went home and practiced but all she would do was cup her hands and bring the water to her face and blow instead of the other way around. In the picture above Coach Ben is trying to get her to blow in the water.
He's holding up the "birthday candle."
But she wasn't having it.
At least she trusted him and was eager to jump in the water.
By the end of the week, we had an audience.
And she was getting a litte more brave.
She not only blew her bubbles, but put her whole face under.
We're making progress!
Her favorite part was kicking across the pool. She had no problem with that.
Our goal for next week: the "head bob" (head all the way under). So far ice cream wasn't good enough for her to want to do that yet.
To be continued...

We love swimming lessons! We have some of the same problems with Emma and getting her head under water. Rachel gets mad when we hold her. She's a fish.

Good for Brayden. Swimming is definitely a necessary life skill.
