The Birthday Girl
as Rapunzel
as Flynn Rider
The Tower
(we can't go to Disney...so we bring Disney to us :)
The Lanterns
The Cake
The Party
The tower is Brayden's piece of cake. I was making it throughout the week prior to her party and she had been eyeing it and couldn't wait to get her hands on it.
Mmmm, fondant and gum paste.
She seemed to like it. All the kids wanted a share of the flowers and leaves as well.
As the guests arrived at the party they all danced around to the Rapunzel music. They each came dressed in princess/Rapunzel dresses. Once everyone arrived they sat down in the "canoe" that Brandon had put together at the last minute in the middle of the floor out of blankets and some wood scraps we had in the garage.
I read a somewhat condensed version of the Rapunzel story to them. I was surprised how glued they were to the book.
After the story they each had to find their own "Pascal" chameleon that was hidden all around the room.
At Brayden's request we played "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider" (duck, duck, goose). Brayden came up with the name.
They next played "Pin the Hair on the Tower." The girls each had a long braid of hair and Kaleb had a satchel to pin up.
Next they played the "Feed Maximus" relay. They had to fill up Maximus' trough by putting "food" in a frying pan and getting it to him as fast as they could.
I had it hidden in the darkest place in the house (the bathroom) where it glowed in the dark.
They brought it back to the canoe and each took a turn holding it.
They were very gentle with the flower.

The more I see what you do, the more I realize that we aren't nearly that creative! You're making the rest of us look bad, not that we need much help.
