Last week Brandon had some time off from school so we took a little vacation.

We made reservations at a nearby hotel and stayed there for a night.

We all got to swim.

Brayden loved being away from home at a hotel just like where "Grandma and Papa" stay.

We chose this particular hotel because not only do they have an amazing free breakfast, but also on week nights they offer a free dinner as well.

Those cheeks are so irresistible even Brayden can't resist them.

After we checked out the next day we headed over to the zoo. It was a great day for it. The animals were out and about probably because it wasn't too hot.

The hippo created quite the crowd by greeting us and bringing his face up to the glass. The kids all loved it. So we got to see a great view of the hippo from this end...

...as well as this one.
It was really gross. Shortly after the crowd all gathered around, the hippo slowly turns around and shows us this.

We had a little train ride. It's one of Brayden's favorite things to do.

I have a picture of last time we did this when Kaleb was only three weeks old.
He's now 8 months in a few days.

It was a fun little vacation we had. It's always so nice when daddy has time off of school.

We finally made the switch this week to the toddler bed. After she learned how to climb out we didn't get around to doing it right away. Thanks to our video monitor I was able to contain her in there a little bit longer. We set up some rules as to when it was okay for her to climb in and out and consequences for when she didn't obey the rules. It worked pretty good to aid us in the transition. So this week I felt like we were ready. Once we made the switch she was so excited to go to bed in it. She hasn't once tried to get out of it when we put her down for the night as well as naps. I was pretty shocked about that. We'll see how that continues once the excitement of it all wears out.

She is so cute!
The hippo picture was attractive... funny. Maybe they train them to do that.
Ah ha ha ha! The hippo picture is so gross! Seems like you prepped Brayden well for the bed thing. I'll have to do that with Emmett - or leave him in his crib until he's 8. He doesn't try to climb out but he LOVES his crib and is really attached to it.
