Summer Vacation

This summer we have had a much needed break and so much fun since Brandon has been off from school. We were able to fit in a nice trip to Chicago a few weeks ago and had a lot of fun with the family.
Brayden and Brooke are close in age and always hit it off really well. She's always so excited to go out there to see her. This is the one cute shot (below) I got when we visited Cosley Zoo. I got some cute video of Kaleb though. The animals amazed him. We made it out to the Lake, luckily dodging all the rain that hit us while we were there. (We enjoyed the weather very much. We get plenty of sunshine where we come from so I didn't mind the cooler weather.) Now that Brayden is a "pro swimmer" she conquered jumping off the pier. At first she wasn't too sure. We gave her the "rules." She has to get daddy's attention and say, "Are you ready?" Then count to three...and jump!
She was loving this life jacket idea cause she could swim all by herself.
The girls had fun being buried in the sand.
(Chelsea, Brayden, Lauren, Brooke)
They got hand pulled in the tube.
And Brayden even agreed to get pulled by the boat.
Kaleb had fun back on dry ground learning a little tee ball.
And then back at grandma's house he loved playing with the balls in the backyard.
I think we have a natural athlete here.
Quarterback maybe?
This kid will drop everything to play with a ball...
well, except food. Food is still number one to him.
The girls still playing together.
(Natalie, Brayden, Lauren, Brooke)
Brandon and Ryan
The kids had a blast just playing around in the backyard.
(Drew, Brayden, and Brooke)
We visited lots of parks.
And took a lot of wagon rides.
We went to my nephew's baseball game.
On this particular day Brooke, and Brayden let me do their "princess" hair.
Kaleb went down the slide by himself for the first time.
The Boys
Blake, Kaleb, Drew, and Dallin
We went to a Splash Park.
My younger sister wanted me to take their family picture one night, so at the last minute we got all the grandkids together for a quick shot also. This was the best one. Not all faces were happy, but I think everyone was at least looking.
And here's a happy one of Kaleb.
It was such a nice break and we had so much fun. Now we're ready to face this next and final year which starts on Monday (blah).

Re-living it in your pictures is great! Why did it have to end?

Kaleb totally looks like a quarterback. I can't believe that Brandon is entering his final year. That went by fast... for me anyway :). Jake is entering his final (and only year) of grad school and it has NOT gone by fast for me :).
