Labor Day

Brandon found this place nearby on Groupon a few weeks ago called The Flying L Ranch Resort about an hour away from us. It sounded fun and we got us admission for a third of the original cost so we made a day out of it on Monday for Labor Day.

We drove on in right past this sign and this is what we saw... (insert tumbleweed here)

It was surrounded by a little farm community, but the actual place was a lot of fun.

When we arrived, there were a ton of cute photo opportunities we took advantage of. Especially on this coach that Brayden loved climbing up and down from. I hope that was okay.

We were playing around on the coach while waiting for this wagon ride.

I wish I got a picture of Cowboy Buck who drove us around on his John Deer in this wagon through the town.

We stopped at a ghost town.

...and saw horses.

Our second wagon ride we took later in the day I didn't bring my camera, but we stopped at a river and fed the fish. After our wagon ride we were ready to cool off at the water park.

Brayden liked to cruise through the lazy river and the rest of the time she wanted to be relatively on her own.

Kaleb loved the water slides.

After the water park we cleaned up and headed out for dinner. The kids got a nice nap in the car and then we came back for some miniature golf.

Kaleb was such a great little helper. As soon as we hit the ball...he would run after it to fetch it for us, pick it up, and hand it to us saying, "here you go." Thanks Kaleb;)

...So we had to move fast.

They both loved this game. Kaleb had a hard time at the end when he saw my ball go in the hole and he couldn't retrieve it. At that point he refused to let his ball go, but he eventually gave in.

There was a really nice playground that we played on.

...and looked at the ponies.

Every night at this place they set up a campfire and Cowboy Buck provides marshmallows and s'mores for everyone.

As soon as it got dark enough, everyone came out from their lodging and joined us at the campfire.

Brayden had been waiting all day for this.

When it was almost time to leave Brayden said she needed to tell Cowboy Buck something. On our way out she went up to him and said,

"Excuse me."

She got his attention and then said,

"I love you."

And gave him a kiss on the cheek.

She had already won the love of everybody at that campfire...but that just sealed the deal.

It was a beautiful day and a more beautiful night.

A great way to spend our Labor Day.
