Show Day

Over the weekend we visited the Texas Transportation Museum. They were having Santa's Railroad Wonderland.

Here the kids are sitting in an old train.

We then took a train ride. Brayden didn't like the sound of the train whistle so this is what she had me do the whole time. She covered her ears even when we were just walking around.

We saw all the little trains and old cars and an old fire engine.

And we even got to visit with the railroad Santa.

These are some pictures that Kaleb is going to look back on one day and say, "what in the world did you guys dress me in?" For the record, it was Brandon that dressed him.

Brayden had her show day this week for KinderDance. This dance class of hers has been the best arrangement for me. Her class is at the YMCA so I get to go work out and Kaleb is taken care of all at the same time. It's nice to be able to do something for myself as well as for Brayden.

Before class Miss Josette sits all the dancers on their blue tape and takes roll. She calls them by name and then they respond,

"Here! Ready to dance!"

Brayden's all ready with her "pizza feet" (first position).

She's learned many things this semester like how to stretch, the different postitions of the hands and feet, how to releve, curtsey, and saute, various "taps," runs, and walks, as well as some acrobatics and much more.

She's improved tremendously in her attention span and listening skills :) She hit a few poses for me at the end.

I took video of a lot so it's kind of long (12:06). You'll notice that Brayden is the only one without any dance shoes, both ballet and tap.

At the beginning of the semester she had some...brand new ones. But she then decided to hit a huge growth spurt. I couldn't bring myself to pay money for more, especially since they "tap" on carpet and Brayden didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Well, good thing I didn't buy new ones cause she has since gone up three sizes. I think the spurt has curbed itself for the time being. We went out to get some tap shoes yesterday so she could be ready for show day, but unfortunately they didn't have her size so she continued to be the only one with no shoes :(

Santa will just have to bring her some.

When do you think I should tell him that boys don't wear tutus and lipgloss? Cause it would break his heart if I took either of those things away.
